Ironically, my sister was told when she was a teenager that she wouldn't be able to have kids. She now has 3 kids, with the 4th due in September, and was my egg donor! She has gotten pregnant each time, the very month they started trying. Me.....not so much. I am extremely find of my niece and nephews though and very thankful for my sister. Up to this point all of the testing that has been done on us by the RE have returned normal. I wish we could be a "we forgot we were TTC" story then get a BFP :) I hope you get yours soon as well.Amiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04738442092989090297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2808830305872285145.post-3617498699298817542013-07-14T18:20:41.941-07:002013-07-14T18:20:41.941-07:00Wow! You really must have nerves of steel! I think I'd lose my mind. Here's hoping that you guys make your own little exception to the infertility rule as well. :)Aramishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12275274008426941898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2808830305872285145.post-43836616036283213232013-07-14T13:23:10.871-07:002013-07-14T13:23:10.871-07:00Interesting cases. The Dr recommended she freeze some eggs before chemo but her and her husband decided against it. She was told later the chemo did indeed damage her eggs/ovaries and she wouldn't be able to have children. They figured they would wait a couple years before dealing with any sort of fertility treatment. Well, about 6 or so months later she was pregnant. Completely unexpected. She was nearly through the 1st trimester before she figured it out. Now, 3 years later, she is pregnant with her 2nd. I was torn between being happy for her for the crazy miracle and jealous that she got pregnant while I was still struggling. I give you credit for working with pregnant women every day. I hope the exceptions give you some hope.JenShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00056681492831041470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2808830305872285145.post-81513618585304200252013-07-13T23:15:00.780-07:002013-07-13T23:15:00.780-07:00Thanks for sharing! I hope they also provide some encouragement along the lines of "it can work, even if it may take a long time".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2808830305872285145.post-63045274769882409692013-07-13T11:27:51.838-07:002013-07-13T11:27:51.838-07:00Thank you for sharing these stories, what an inter...Thank you for sharing these stories, what an interesting post. I struggle a lot with bitterness about being an "exception to the norm" in a bad sense. There are three girls in my family, I am the one with the screwed up uterus. My sisters conceive naturally and by accident, I am infertile and miscarry. I learn that having a septate uterus isn't all that uncommon, except the particular kind I have (shocking!) IS uncommon. I get extremely irritated with people, like your friend, who are incredibly lucky and then go around dispensing advice based on their good luck.

When my sisters say, "Don't worry, it will happen," what they're really saying is, "Don't worry, it happened for ME because I am genetically lucky. You, unfortunately, got the shitty end of the genetic stick, so I can't help you there. But seeing as how that's your misfortune and not mine, I'm going to base my assumption that you'll eventually get what you want on the precedent that I've always gotten exactly what I want." Thanks, sis, that's a great thought, except for the fact that your logic blows donkey dick.

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit cranky today. But I do enjoy hearing your stories from the medical field. I'm sorry we both happen to be on the wrong end of the exception spectrum :/Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01507531522613335860noreply@blogger.com
